Reimagining Space to Enhance Flow, Light, and Functionality
Client: Private
Budget: £200k
Location: London Borough of Bexley
Status: Completed 2021
This outdated property, in poor condition, featured a conservatory opening directly into the house. Following detailed discussions, we secured a pre-application for a future loft conversion to expand it from 3 to 6 bedrooms. The first phase focused on refurbishing the ground floor into a 3-bedroom home with 2 bathrooms.
We opened the wall between the kitchen and the conservatory to create an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area overlooking the garden. The conservatory was replaced with an energy-efficient extension, serving as a spacious dining room. A wood like tiled floor in parquet pattern created an impressive foreground for the design.
MCAPS managed planning, building control, project management, and interior design. The kitchen’s duck egg blue colour was echoed in doors throughout the property and paired with salmon pink accents. The living room featured concrete-effect wallpaper with copper tones, slatted panels with acoustic backing for the TV wall, and lighting to enhance the space’s ambiance.
The bespoke kitchen included highlights such as a whiskey display with tailored lighting. A large fixed glass window with built-in seating became a centrepiece in the dining area, while wood-effect parquet flooring added spaciousness.
We transformed the modest family bathroom into a stylish space with duck egg, copper, pink, and pastel tones. A second en-suite shower room was cleverly added, featuring minimalist white hexagonal marble-effect tiles.
